100 Women Who Care- Southshore

Members of 100 Women Who Care commit to a $100 pledge at 4 meetings per year.  The goal is to have 100 or more members, which would result in a lump sum of $10,000+ for the charitable organization selected at each meeting.  The concept is patterned after the original 100 Women Who Care started in 2006 by Karen Dunigan, from Jackson, Michigan.

Because it is so simple and effective, the concept has been implemented in many communities throughout the country.  There are no mandatory dues, volunteer hours, fundraisers, silent auctions or etc.  Just come to one meeting per quarter for one hour and donate $100.

*Any member who is present may nominate a local charity or nonprofit at the meeting.

*The member will place her name into a basket along with with the name of the charity.

*Three names will be drawn from the basket.

*Those 3 members or a designated representative from the nominated charity will have 5 minutes to tell us about the local organization or agency they nominated.

*There is an opportunity for questions.

*A vote is taken by written ballot and the winner is announced!

*Each member makes their quarterly donation for the selected charity at the 100 Women Who Care grapevine.org site, our platform for collecting monies.  Grapevine then sends a check to the winning charity for the sum total of our collective gift! .

*The member who nominated the selected organization will work with the charity to arrange a "check" presentation.

THE MEETING
REMINDERS

IF you have signed and turned in your Commitment Form, you may VOTE at any meeting.

If you nominate a charity, you must be present at the meeting at the time your charity is chosen or another charity will be selected.

All members are encouraged to bring guests and spread the word through Facebook, email and word of mouth.

We hope that everyone is able to attend all 4 meetings each year.  An email is sent to remind you of the upcoming meeting and an email is sent after the meeting to announce the selected charity/organization.

We communicate with members through email, facebook, our website, and our Grapevine.org site to report the total dollars collected and the name of the organization selected.  Pictures are always welcomed!
